Adobe Photoshop CS3: What Adobe or Apple SHOULD DO!

Rumors are flying now about Photoshop CS3, and the whole creative suite 3 coming to OS X Intel-based Macs as a native binary soon

Soon could mean the upcoming big announcements as usual at the beginning of the year. It could also mean in Spring. Either way, this is the only thing holding many people back from buying new Intel Macs. That said, here’s what Apple or Adobe or the two together should do:

Offer a big stinking bundle discount on CS3 and a new Mac!

And I don’t mean just a measly $50 dollar discount or some lame mail-in rebate. If they want mass-adoption quickly, and that means sales, the need to make it a very significant discount. Otherwise, few will jump in early. Everyone knows about bloatware and the fact that Photoshop 5 and Illustrator 8 on OS9 can still get the job done for 99% of all jobs that need to be done. You really could invest in an older dual-processor G4 tower and and old software and start your own low-end (costwise) design studio really fast…

Being that it is likely to be a memory hog as well, it should also come bundled with extra RAM.
