Favicon Size

Many things on the web are in such a constant state of flux that you cannot be sure what is currently correct, what is out of date and what is still a future thing yet to be implemented. Favicons are one of those things. Like the others, there is a lot of info out there on the web that is out of date, or worse just wrong and recent.

The question is: What size should a favicon be?
The answer was: 16px square.
The answer now is: 32px square

You still need the Photoshop plugin that is free and you can find it at a site called Telegraphics.

If you need something of a tutorial, you can Google it. Just remember that you can use 32px square as the size. Safari and Firefox both recognize and display them at this size so you will be ok, since those are 2 of the most modern browsers.

Remember to put the favicon in the same directory (folder) as the web page that links to it.
