Safari 3 is now a Public Beta. I’m downloading it as I type this. Very cool. Even Cooler? Works on Windows too! No more excuses for IE at all! Now we have the best looking browser available to most computers. They should release it for Linux as well, but I guess that’s what Konqueror/KHTML is anyway…
Oh yeah, it is the same browser that is on the iPhone too.
It’s also worth noting that Apple has finally redesigned their site completely. No more lickable tabs. These things are a gray gradient now, an allusion to the anodized aluminum hardware they produce now. Expect to see a lot of web sites do the same, but I have to say it is probably the least distinctive site design Apple has ever had. If anything, it’s almost already passé, Mac developer/blogger styling.
Safari 3b is done downloading. It’s requiring a restart… scary and microsoftian…
Well that went well. No troubles. There were definitely some things added to Safari 3 internally. On the surface, it looks the same and hasn’t been re-skinned for Leopard style yet, if it will be. But already, it looks like perhaps Apple has addressed some of the shortcomings they had with Safari’s Javascript… need more testing and poking around.
I’m dying to see this puppy on Windows too.
